I soon realized that being a leader is hard work and you can't lead others if you're not taking care of yourself. Once I learned the skills that I needed to be an effective leader, I started to share them with others. The feedback was amazing and it ultimately lead me to where I am today.

I can remember the exact moment I decided to make a change. I wasn't sleeping well, stopped taking care of my mental and physical health, and wasn't enjoying my down time. I knew that I needed a change and it had to start with me. I realized that I was a leader, but not a very good one because I was so stressed.


The answers to my problems were so simple but seemed so difficult to achieve, so i decided to start with what I knew. I began with the simple techniques that I preached to others all the years of working in the mental health field. Here's what I did...


  • Began to meditate

  • Focused on my sleeping habits

  • Focused on what foods I put into my body

  • Developed positive work boundaries that helped me enjoy my time at home

  • Changed my overall negative mindset to being more positive

With all of those changes, I noticed that I was able to decrease my stress level and was starting to become a better leader.
